Natural veneer and veneer lay-up production has been part of Břeclav for more than 30 years.

The story began in 1992 with the founding of Dar-Dýha, a company that built a strong reputation through high-quality natural veneers, skilled craftsmanship, and a personal approach to every customer. Over the years, the company expanded both its range of veneer species and its veneer lay-up production, becoming a trusted partner for joiners, furniture manufacturers, and other woodworking professionals.

In 2024, the production was taken over by Gerbrich s.r.o.

For us, this was not a step into the unknown. For many years, we had been using veneer from Břeclav in the production of our interior doors, so we knew both the quality of the material and the people behind it. That is why we decided to build on more than three decades of craftsmanship and continue the tradition.

The most valuable part of the acquisition was not the machinery or the production facilities, it was the experienced seven-member team that continues its work today. These are the people who know natural veneer inside out, and whose expertise has earned the trust of customers for decades.

Today, we continue to build on the same values as our predecessors: premium natural materials, honest Czech craftsmanship, decades of experience, and a personal approach. We believe it is this combination of tradition, expertise, and attention to detail that makes truly exceptional veneer.

We are a 100% Czech family company

We are a Czech company built on the expertise and experience of our people. We specialize in veneer lay-up production and the supply of sliced natural veneers.

Veneer is much more than a thin sheet of wood. It is a reflection of nature, a unique story written by each tree, and one of the most refined ways to bring natural wood into an interior. To us, veneer is more than just a raw material. It is the foundation for furniture, doors, wall panels, and other products that will retain their beauty for decades.

We guide you through every step of the process, from selecting the right veneer flitch to delivering precisely crafted veneer lay-ups. By combining the beauty of natural wood with skilled craftsmanship and a modern approach, we help you create interiors with lasting character and timeless appeal.

Whether you are an experienced joiner, furniture manufacturer, designer, architect, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of real wood, we are here to provide materials and workmanship you can rely on.

Master precision
and quality

Veneer lay ups are among the most important components used in furniture manufacturing, interior design, and the production of premium wood products. To achieve a flawless final appearance and meet the highest quality standards, exceptional attention must be paid to every stage of the lay up manufacturing process. This is where skilled craftsmanship meets modern technology.

A veneer lay up is created by joining individual veneer leaves into larger sheets. The goal is to produce a continuous surface with the required appearance, grain pattern, and dimensions. The process begins with the careful selection of veneer leaves that match in colour, grain, and texture. Every piece of wood is unique, so even the smallest differences must be considered. Experienced craftsmen evaluate how individual leaves will look once joined together and how to make the best use of the wood’s natural character.

The joining process itself requires absolute precision. The edges of each veneer leaf are carefully prepared so they fit together seamlessly, without visible gaps or overlaps. At our facility, the leaves are joined using modern Kuper thermal joining technology, ensuring strong, accurate, and reliable joints. Even the slightest inaccuracy can become clearly visible once the veneer is pressed onto a substrate and may compromise the appearance of the finished product.

Today, veneer lay up production benefits from advanced machinery equipped with optical systems and digital controls. Even so, technology cannot replace human expertise. Judging the aesthetics of a natural material, recognising subtle differences, and creating a harmonious final appearance are skills that only years of experience can provide.

The precision of veneer lay up production is the result of combining traditional craftsmanship, expert knowledge, and modern technology. The outcome is a natural, elegant, and visually refined surface that highlights the beauty of real wood and gives every product its own distinctive character. This careful attention to detail is what allows furniture and interior elements to retain their beauty and value for many years.

Custom-made production

Every custom veneer lay up begins with a consultation to understand the customer’s specific requirements. These include the desired dimensions, wood species, matching pattern, and intended application. Based on this information, we select the most suitable veneer and prepare the production process. Using modern, specialized equipment for cutting, joining, and sizing, we ensure exceptional precision and consistent quality throughout every stage of production.

One of the greatest advantages of custom manufacturing is the ability to create a design tailored to a specific project. Architects, designers, and furniture manufacturers can achieve unique visual effects that cannot be replicated with standard materials. Customers can influence not only the dimensions and appearance of the veneer lay up, but also the selection of individual veneer leaves, ensuring the final result meets both technical and aesthetic expectations.

Custom veneer lay ups are widely used in the production of premium furniture, interior wall panels, doors, kitchen cabinetry, and high end commercial and residential interiors. By combining traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing technology, we create products that deliver both outstanding aesthetics and lasting quality.

Responsibility and professional advice

Expert guidance begins with understanding your project and its specific requirements. Our specialists first discuss the intended application, the desired visual style, and the overall design concept. The ideal veneer for a prestigious office interior may differ significantly from the best choice for residential furniture or bespoke cabinetry.

The next step is selecting the right wood species. Popular options include oak, beech, maple, walnut, ash, and a wide range of exotic veneers. Each species has its own distinctive grain, colour, and characteristics. We explain the differences, present veneer samples, and recommend the most suitable solution based on both aesthetic preferences and practical requirements.

An equally important part of the process is choosing the veneer matching pattern. The direction of the grain and the way individual veneer leaves are joined have a significant impact on the final appearance. Depending on the project, we can create book matched, slip matched, or plank matched patterns, as well as other custom layouts that complement the character of the furniture or interior.

Professional advice also helps prevent costly mistakes. With the right veneer selection and matching method, customers can be confident that the finished product will not only achieve the desired visual effect but also meet the technical requirements of its intended application. Our experience helps avoid unsuitable material combinations, colour inconsistencies, and other issues that could affect the quality or longevity of the final product.
